More than 1100 writers from around the globe participated in the AWC’s Furious Fiction competition in November 2020. Michael’s short story, “Last Shout”, was shortlisted and placed in the top 7 stories.

The NYC Midnight Short Screenplay Challenge is a competition that challenges writers around the world to create short screenplays (5 pages max.) based on genre, location, and object assignments in 48 hours. Michael placed first in his group in Round 3 with his entry, “Gnaw”.

After four rounds of intense competition and from an original field of 1,000+ writers around the world, Michael placed 2nd in the 2019 competition with his final round short screenplay, “Automata”.

The NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge is an international competition that challenges writers around the world to create short stories based on genre, subject, and character assignments in as little as 24 hours. After three rounds of intense competition and from an original field of 4,000 writers around the world, Michael won the 2018 competition with his final round story, “Crawlers“.


TANTRUM YOUTH ARTS HISSYFEST 2018

Michael’s short play, “Love Conquers Orl”, showcased in the Civic Playhouse as part of Tantrum Youth Arts’ annual short play festival, Hissyfest, in 2018.

The NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge is an international creative writing competition that challenges participants to create short stories (1,000 words max.) based on genre, location, and object assignments in 48 hours. From an original field of over 2,500 writers and after four intense challenges, Michael placed 10th in the 2017 competition with his final round story, “Good Heavens”.
